Dear 1L: Summer Spotlight AnnaLisa Hamann

🔹 Dear 1L - Summer Spotlight: 🔹This week, I introduce rising 2L, AnnaLisa Hamann.

 AnnaLisa’s 1L story started with exciting news. We all know that the 1L academic year takes roughly 9 months. Sound like a familiar length of time?

 That’s right: Baby John Woods Hamann (DOB May 9, 2022) was cooking the entire, wild ride. AnnaLisa brought him into the world just three weeks ago—smack dab in the middle of 1L final exams. I cannot even fathom.

 If you haven’t yet seen AnnaLisa’s announcement, I encourage you to check it out (link in comments). She has a precious little one—his photo will make your day.Here’s some more background on this new mom and budding legal scholar:▫️ AnnaLisa attends the University of Minnesota Law School in Minneapolis, where she lives with her husband, four-year-old daughter, and now baby John.

 ▫️ Her pre-law-school days included founding two service-based companies, which, AnnaLisa says, “helped her develop a love for business and entrepreneurship.” She has also been active in volunteer initiatives, including recent work for an anti-trafficking nonprofit.▫️ AnnaLisa is a stage IV Hodgkin’s lymphoma survivor. She has been in remission for 15 years. 

 ▫️ She hopes to pursue a legal career that assists others, whether in the business sector or elsewhere. She and her family love to travel and are open to exploring opportunities both in and beyond MN.

AnnaLisa encourages:

 “Anything is possible, as I am living proof. Do what matters, and don’t wait for the ‘right time.’ The time is always right to pursue your goals.”
