Dear 1L: Roe v Wade

Dear 1L,

Today, I weep.

I almost want to open the phone lines right now to anyone who needs someone to talk to. I am here if you need to. 

Write.

Are you ok?

I will search for words, but for now,

I’m going to go tend to my mother—

She is equally undone—

and then I will try to reach all of my daughters (I am up in RI this week).

But I am thinking of each one of you,

and I am here if you want to talk. Or cry. 

Write.

This is not about political views. It’s about human beings.
