Dear 1L, Most 1Ls approach exam hypos the wrong way.

Most 1Ls do this:

- they read the question,
- try to figure out the answer, and
- then write an essay to justify that answer.

Instead, do this:

- read the question,
- write one side’s best arguments;
- write the other side’s best arguments; and
- explain why one side has the better arguments.

👉 Only after you have explained why one side’s arguments are better should you reach your conclusion.
