Self-doubt and self-sabotage/book

Self-doubt and self-sabotage.

Why I’ve been scared to talk about my book on LinkedIn:

—What if it isn’t good?
—What if it isn’t successful?
—What if it is really nothing at all?

I’ve always been a downplayer.

—I don’t like to create expectations.
—I’m scared I’ll disappoint people.
—I’m scared I’ll embarrass myself.

Why I SHOULD be talking about my book on LinkedIn:

🔹 “This is what every pre-law student should be reading. . . . I am getting so excited for you . . . You have a really good thing here.”

🔹 “Amanda, I want you to know that it’s going to be really difficult NOT to be a cheerleader. This book (so far) is absolutely phenomenal. . . . I would even dare say it’s a potential bestseller.”

🔹 “Every single 1L needs this book, and we will make sure to get this out to all of them once it is ready.”

🔹 “To be completely honest, you are going to sell at least a million copies of this book.”

🔹 “Just from the initial read, I can already tell this is going to be a book that goes down in history as one of the best!”

These are the early comments I’ve received back from student beta readers.

So I’m actually starting to get psyched.

The working title is: “Dear 1L: How to Write in Law School.”

—What if it is good?
—What if it is successful?
—What if it really is something?

💡 “You’ll never know unless you put yourself out there.”

I’m now off to input suggestions from my readers.
Next step will be copyediting and proofreading.
Please wish me luck.

I’m spreading good cheer to all.

💌 Amanda
