Dear 1L – Spotlight: Alexandra Hulit
Dear 1L — Summer Spotlight
Pivoting away from the haunting background stories of past weeks, the showcase turns to the hardworking, international world of rising 2L, Alexandra Hulit.

To fund and support her education, Alex spent 6+ years working in retail and customer-service facing positions.
One year, she even worked two jobs while maintaining a full-time academic schedule.
After supporting herself through to her Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Alex continued to work full-time as a barista throughout her first year of law school.
The strength of Alex’s work ethic is matched by that of her passion for learning new languages and cultures:
Alex grew up a “Francophile” and started thinking and dreaming in French at a young age.
Her undergraduate studies included several months in New Zealand, where her experiences trying to obtain a visa during the height of the pandemic ultimately inspired her to pursue law.
Alex aims to become an international lawyer who helps individuals and organizations in navigating the complexities of global trade and immigration law.

Alex will begin her 2L year at American University Washington College of Law in the fall. She has already been accepted into a 3L studies program in Italy.
Alex loves to connect with others. Please join me in welcoming her into our Dear 1L community.
Fondly,
Amanda
