Dear 1L: Bluebook Help

Dear 1L,

I said start with cites.
Why’d I start where I hate?
For the time it’s a ticking,
Have you looked at the date?

Move on next to writing,
You must do it soon.
Time to edit, you must save,
For not long, will be June.

I’ve read your writing samples, 
These past weeks, no fun,
Passive voice, wordy phrases,
On and on, they do run.

Get to the point, I say,
Get there fast,
Use less words. Less. Less.
Let your Readers stroll past. 

And last, make no cite gaffes, 
They’ll get in the way.
See attached pdf now,
Don’t wait one more day.

Those tiny details matter,
In everything you do.
It’s what we signed up for,
With law, comes a Bluebook, too.
