Dear 1L,
Over the past year or so, I’ve been working pro-bono to help a first-generation college student get admitted to law school.
Hypothetically, let’s assume it’s a non-diverse, male candidate, and that he’s coming straight from a small, rural college, with
– a 164 LSAT,
– a 3.8 GPA, and
– a need for full scholarship help.
Last Year:
▪️ 15 wait lists
▪️ 0 final admits
⬇️
Heartbreak doesn’t begin to do justice to the aftermath.
***************
This year, he picked himself up and tried again.
I felt so proud of him.
But . .
▪️ 18 wait lists
▪️ __ final admits?
⬇️
We’ve been waiting.
It’s been agony.
As of yesterday, we were still waiting.
And waiting.
Today, that wait is over.
👉 He’s going to law school!
(And it’s a really, really good one, too!)

All it takes is one yes.
And sometimes, good things do happen to good people.
Happy Saturday to all!
💌 Amanda
