I Bombed 1L Legal Writing

I bombed 1L legal writing.
Got the lowest grade of my life.

It made me hate legal writing.
It made me never want to write.

Why am I telling you this?

Well, law school grades just came back.
Maybe you bombed writing, too?

I’m so fearful you’ll just turn off,
decide you hate legal writing, and
give up.

But that would be a disaster!

—We get paid to manipulate words to persuade.
—Our clients’ fates rest on our ability to wield words effectively.

Second, your grade does not reflect your potential.

—Perhaps you simply need more time to develop your skills.
—Or maybe your prof’s style didn’t mesh w/ how you learn.
—It could even be that their teaching methods failed you.
