Dear 1L: Advice I gave to 1Ls at Ole Miss

Dear 1L,

Here are 2 tips I shared yesterday, when I spoke with 1Ls in the Ole Miss Black Law Students Association. Thank you so much to Nivory Gordon III, M.Sc. for inviting me to speak.

1:  Start looking at practice exam questions and answers earlier rather than later.  I regret my delay in starting. 

2:  Try to rope off two solid hours BEFORE your first class.  Use that time for deep reading and thinking work.  The morning is such a distraction-free time for quiet work.  Don’t waste it.
