Not Ready to Be a Podcast Guest

Hello from Matt and me in RI, where we’ll be spending this summer near my Mom and other family.

Today’s story starts in Nov 2021—when I was NOT ready to be a podcast guest.

I’d never appeared on one before; I didn’t know what to expect; and I got a bit blindsided.

And after that first one, although I thought I did “okay,” I knew equally well that I could get much, much better. So I worked hard at it!

And since then, I’ve appeared on nearly a dozen.

🔹 My No. 1 piece of advice is you MUST get the questions you’ll be asked in advance.

That’s because writing out all your answers and knowing them cold in advance is the key to preparing to be an excellent guest.

🔹 I’ve also learned that the better the host’s questions, the better the podcast will be.

And I’ve found that the amazing Paula Price asks THE best questions.

So please check out this recent episode where Paula interviewed me about legal writing.

It is a veritable MASTERCLASS, and I promise you will not be disappointed!

P.S. When you download podcasts for your way home, a long drive, why not opt to learn some legal writing tips while you ride?
