I Feel Like I Work at LinkedIn
I originally posted on LinkedIn to try to find law students who might need help with legal writing. (In the back of my mind, I confess, I was really hoping to find a job working for someone else. 🙂)
That was in September 2021.
Well, I did find law students.
—I found a whole lot of lawyers who needed help with writing, too.
—And this year, through my “3 Bullets” newsletter, I’ve been adding “LinkedIn writers” to my list of potential ICPs. (ICP=“ideal client persona”)
BUT:Â Somewhere along the way, it became apparent that I cared FAR more about community than I did about finding new ICPs.
đź”· Today, LinkedIn is a place to come where I know people and feel genuine, human connection.Â
LinkedIn has become my “employer,” and this space is my “workplace,” as crazy as that might be.
—I may not have traditional co-workers.
—I may not have a fancy office in the sky.
—I may not get a weekly paycheck or 401K.
But LinkedIn has been the best place I’ve ever “worked.”
Here, there is community.
It has been beyond extraordinary to experience.Â
🙏🏻 I appreciate each one of you, and we are just getting started! Â
