Dear 1L: Congratulations!

Dear 1L,

Congratulations!!! It is hard to believe—1L fall is in the books! What a tremendous accomplishment.

You have finished the hardest part of law school. I promise it will never be as daunting or scary again. So so proud of you.

I hope you can indulge in sleep and have lots of “do nothing” and “fun” time. As for me, I am a proud mommy this week, because my oldest daughter got into her first choice for law school (to start fall 2022)!

I will have some OCI-related posts for you over break. I also will generally be around, if anyone wants to get a jump on resume or writing-sample stuff.

I am always available for a free mentoring and networking call, too!

But savor this moment as long as possible. You should feel really great about what you have achieved. Regardless of ultimate grades, just getting through 1L fall is the most momentous step in becoming a lawyer.

This is really happening! You are going to be a full-fledged lawyer soon! So so cool.
